Topical Application of Common and Exotic Herbs

The use of topical herbs is a valuable adjunct to any body-based therapy. A variety of musculoskeletal injuries, skin and nervous system problems can benefit from the right herbal application. Topical herb use is common within martial arts and bodywork circles. Many herbs used in this fashion have unique properties that are not always apparent from their typical internal usage.

Over 9 hours, Topical Application of Common and Exotic Herbs will cover 6 methods of topical herb application with detailed indications and contra-indications. Through lecture and demonstration, participants will learn how to prepare and use herbal oils, salves, liniments, soaks, powders and poultices. They will also learn 50+ herbs that are especially effective for topical application along with the diagnostic criteria necessary to effectively select and apply these methods.

Students will receive notes, supplemental video links, and samples of the preparations made in class. There will be time for asking questions during and after the class.
